Nuestra Junta Directiva es elegida por los miembros cada año durante nuestra Reunión General Anual (AGM) de Miembros.
Cada director sirve a la Junta por un año de acuerdo con nuestra Constitución y Reglamentos.

Javier Badillo
Javier es un cineasta y músico residente en Vancouver desde 2002. Cuando no está rodando una película en su cámara o cantando en conciertos con su banda de rock “Caracas”, está procesando libros en la Biblioteca Pública de Vancouver o preparando Lattés en The Laughing Café de frijoles.
Javier recibió el premio RBC Top 25 Canadian Immigrant Award en 2019.

Maribet Balesteña
After living in the United States for almost 40 years, Maribet moved to beautiful Victoria in 2018, where she now lives with her husband. She is a graduate from the University of Miami where she received a Bachelor Degree in Architecture, Landscape Architecture and a Master Degree in Urban Planning. In 2021, Maribet became a certified Pastry Chef Expert in Healthy Baking.
Serving others is a great joy of hers, which led her to become a member of VCSBC in an effort to share the Venezuelan culture, and aid those in need in Venezuela and abroad through the funds raised at our events.

Nacido en Caracas, Venezuela, Antonio es Abogado con Maestría en Administración de Empresas y emprendedor apasionado por el desarrollo de negocios internacionales, la transferencia de conocimiento y el empoderamiento; una pasión que pone en práctica como socio asociado en We Speak BC Inc.
Antonio está casado con Carolina, tiene dos hijas, Mariana y Sara, y llevan más de 11 años viviendo en Victoria, BC.

Es Lic. en Comunicación Social, egresada de la UCSAR en Caracas,Venezuela. Su pasión por promover la cultura y mostrar su país la ha llevado a colaborar activamente en iniciativas sociales, trabajando con grupos comunitarios para facilitar la integración de nuevos inmigrantes y fortalecer los lazos de solidaridad entre diversas culturas.
Sus hobbies son compartir la gastronomía venezolana con otros, enseñando y aprendiendo nuevas recetas para difundir conocimientos culinarios. Su amor por las artes escénicas y los medios de comunicación se refleja en su apoyo a la libertad de expresión e información, aspectos que considera fundamentales en una sociedad democrática y plural.

Iván Contramaestre
Ivan is a Software Developer that has resided in Metro Vancouver for more than 30 years. When he is not playing Lego, or watching “Brooklyn 99” in the company of his two children, you can see him performing with Los Parranderos De Vancouver, walking his dog or volunteering at the North East Burnaby Community Association (another non-profit). He likes baseball, the beach, and jogging 3 times a week.
Ivan currently works as a Senior Software Developer at The University of British Columbia and this is his 8th year as a member of the Board of Directors.
